Three people were killed in an active drug lab in Poederlee in the Kempen. A fourth victim was resuscitated and taken to hospital. Two other people, including a neighbor, were also taken to hospital for evaluation.

The drug lab was found above a pizzeria and a liquor store on the Poederleeseweg, just outside the village center of Poederlee. The emergency services arrived en masse at around 9 a.m. on Wednesday morning. Civil protection subsequently installed fences to close off the building.
The Antwerp public prosecutor’s office confirms that an active drug lab was discovered on Wednesday morning. “Three fatalities were found in the building,” says spokesperson Kato Belmans. “One victim was able to be resuscitated and taken to hospital.”
Psychotropic substances
The identities of the victims have not yet been released and the exact cause of death is not yet known. According to the prosecutor’s office, two other people were taken to the hospital. It concerns the person who informed the police and a neighbor.
In addition to the police, fire brigade and emergency medical services, the judicial laboratory, the medical examiner and the Clan Lab Response Unit (CRU) of the police also arrived on site, as is usual at a drug lab. The public prosecutor’s office temporarily classifies the facts as production of psychotropic substances in combination, resulting in death.
