The students of De Vlinder primary school and Impuls secondary school attracted attention last week with a fun campaign on road safety. Armed with slogans, the students encouraged motorists and cyclists to be more careful in the area around the school on Arconatistraat.

The aim of the action was to draw attention to the safety of children in traffic. During the lessons, the students received a repetition of the basic rules regarding road safety, such as zone 30, visibility when cycling or walking to and from school, the correct use of zebra crossings and the Kiss & Ride zone.

In addition to the students, (grand)parents and other road users were also made aware of the dangers and unsafe situations that arise when the basic rules are not respected. The school hopes to create broader support for road safety in Dilbeek. “Together with the entire Dilbeek community, we want to ensure a safe school environment and a safer Dilbeek for our children,” said the school management and De Vlinderbond.
