A tourist bus from ‘Tootbus’ crashed into a tree on the Steenweg in Vilvoorde on Sunday. Ambulances took 22 injured people to various hospitals. Three passengers are seriously injured, but no one is in mortal danger.

The accident happened around 12:30 p.m. “A tourist bus crashed into a tree early on Sunday afternoon. According to the latest assessment, 22 people were injured, three were seriously injured and taken to hospital, all others had minor injuries, said Walter Derieuw, a spokesman for the Brussels fire brigade.

No one is in danger of death. No other vehicles were involved in the accident. A medical triage post was set up, the fire brigade said on Sunday afternoon. There are also five ambulances on site as well as the police for the necessary observations, it said. “The exact circumstances of the accident have yet to be determined,” Derieuw added.

It concerned a bus with 33 foreign tourists. The uninjured passengers were taken by police to central Brussels so they could return to their hotels.
