‘More people into bookstores’

Eveline Aendekerk, director of CPNB: ‘I am pleased with the significant increase in sales of Dutch-language fiction and literary non-fiction. This is exactly why we organize Book Week! It is precisely this type of Dutch-language books that needs a boost like this and should benefit from the campaign. We look back on a successful Book Week. The long lines for the writers’ performances by the Chabot family, among others, were striking, but also the rise of Dutch literature in De Bestseller 60. It is great to see how we, as a collective book trade, have strengthened the power of the Book Week this year with additional partners. , by coordinating media buying and by adding more ‘stopping power’ to the campaign. With our combined efforts we have managed to attract more people into the bookstore.’
