Johan Bakayoko is one of the big trendsetters at PSV this year. The Eindhoven team is on the verge of winning the Eredivisie title, after which the European Championship awaits the young Belgian.

Bakayoko wants to shine there and gain even more attention in front of interested clubs. Our compatriot has already scored 13 goals and 14 assists across all competitions this season and wants to continue that trend in Germany this summer. The winger spoke to the RTBF about the upcoming European Championships.

Bakayoko is ambitious for the European Championship

“We really have an extraordinary team. If we play like we did against England, I think anything is possible,” Bakayoko is ambitious. “There are no limits. There are a number of players in the team who can make a difference in different ways. We will soon see if we can last the entire European Championship. It is a great challenge.”

Bakayoko leaves no doubt about who the patron is. “Romelu Lukaku is the leader of the group. Everyone listens to him and he directs the team with his commitment, his talent, his presence and his leadership. It is easy to have a bond with a player like him. He understands football and what the players need,” said Bakayoko.

Doku is more explosive than Bakayoko

Bakayoko also spoke about Jérémy Doku, who has to guide the Devils at the European Championship. “Jérémy Doku and I have the same qualities, like many wingers. But I think he is more explosive. He hits the ball a lot and dribbles a lot. I also dribble, but I am more in the penalty area, I sometimes play close to the striker. “

At the time of writing, Bakayoko has made eleven appearances for the Red Devils. He scored one goal, visiting Estonia. Will he score his second for our country at the European Championship?
