45-year-old Kelly from Swansea (Wales) was bitten by a friend’s dog. It bit a piece out of her face and then ate it. The attack came as a surprise because the dog was a sweet-behaved dachshund.
“The dog was very sweet and showed no signs of being an aggressive dog at all. He lay on his back to be petted on his belly and put his head on my lap several times,” Kelly told The Mirror.
But later that evening, the dog’s behavior suddenly changed and it bit the woman. “He didn’t bark or growl, he just charged and bit me in the face. Then he started shaking his head back and forth. I could feel his teeth deep in my cheek. He tore a piece loose and ate it.”
The dog then bit the heavily bleeding victim again, this time on her arm. In the hospital, the woman had to undergo plastic surgery, in which a piece of skin from her neck was transplanted to her face.
Hide a scar with makeup
The woman is left with a scar and trauma from the attack, which took place last month. “I lie in bed crying because I feel his teeth in me. I am left with a horrible scar on my face. It has ruined my life because it will never be the same again. I now have to buy camouflage make-up for people with facial disfigurements.”
Police took the dachshund after the attack, which happened last month. The animal was later put to sleep. The dog turned out to have attacked someone twice before. The victim demands compensation.
