According to what we heard, the couple’s friends found the Open Mokka with Spanish license plate in Roque del Conde located in Adeje, the municipality where the couple also lived together.

Sunglasses, clothes and knife

According to our information, the car was not locked. Clothing, sunglasses and a knife were found inside. The couple’s friends notified the police who came to pick up the car. The vehicle is currently being fully investigated. The Spanish police provide no information. The Belgian federal public prosecutor’s office, which announced earlier this weekend that it would offer assistance to the Spanish investigators, is not aware.

No trace of Marc

There is currently no trace of Marc Olbrechts himself. The man and his wife Laura Trappeniers were reported missing on Wednesday, April 24. Friends last saw them on Monday, April 22. The woman was found six days later by a local fisherman, off the coast of Arico – about 50 kilometers away, on the eastern side of the island. Her body was badly mutilated. The woman was missing both legs and a hand. Someone had tied a yellow plastic bag over her head. The discovery of the body sent a shock wave through the island where many Flemish people are enjoying their old age.

It is clear that the woman was killed violently. Investigators are currently still guessing under what circumstances. The discovery of the car may now provide more clarity.
