Mr. 100, an anonymous and widely followed Bitcoin address, recently made a large purchase of Bitcoins. This transaction involved the purchase of 4,100 BTC for a total of $238 million, just as the coin dropped to $58,000 each.

According to data from Bitinfocharts, this is the first time the wallet has purchased bitcoins since Bitcoin’s recent halving.

Analysts keep the address of Mr. 100 is closely monitored because of its signature transactions, which often involve purchasing exactly 100 BTC. This latest purchase is all the more remarkable as the address had not seen any activity since April 19 — just a day before the halving.

Prior to this period of silence, Mr. 100 is known within the Bitcoin community for his strategy of buying 100 BTC daily, a pattern that started on February 14.

Mr. 100 owns $3.85 billion BTC

The renewed activity of Mr. 100 has caught the attention of the crypto community. Some crypto analysts interpret this as a potential signal that the Bitcoin price is on the verge of a rise.

With a holding of approximately 61,150 BTC, Mr. 100’s wallet is now the twelfth largest in the Bitcoin market, with an estimated value of over $3.85 billion.

$24 million profit on purchase

Mr. 100 recently made a significant profit by buying its Bitcoins at a price of $58,000, close to the local bottom. Since this purchase, Bitcoin’s value has increased by almost 10%, to its current price of $63,700.

This price increase has caused Mr. 100 generated a profit of almost $24 million from just one transaction. Across his entire portfolio, he now has an estimated profit of more than $1.4 billion.

It is still not entirely clear who the owner of the wallet is, in the past the address has sometimes been linked to various crypto exchanges, but hard evidence is still lacking.
