“It’s here with Yves from Erika. Would you like to speak to her? Oops, too late. She is dead.” The phone call from Yves Cuypers (57) to his wife’s lover in 2011 makes it clear how badly he was hit. Because he is not lying: Erika, who cheated on him several times, is dead in her car. The judge does not see it as an ‘irresistible urge’, but he does have encouraging words: “You can take your place in society again after your sentence.” He’s wrong. Very wrong.
