Pauwels Sauzen-Bingoal and AG Insurance-Soudal Team have reached an agreement on a collaboration. Jurgen Mettepenningen’s cyclo-cross formation ‘lends’ Leonie Bentveld and Viktor Vandenberghe to the Lefevere teams for the road season.

Bentveld will complete her upcoming road program with Patrick Lefevere’s women’s team. For the cyclocross season, the young rider will remain on board with her current team Pauwels Sauzen-Bingoal. The two teams also find each other for promising rider Viktor Vandenberghe. He will ride in the kit of Soudal Quick-Step Devo Team during the road season. “This way they are better equipped for the cyclo-cross season.” says a press release.

Vandenberghe, who will celebrate his 19th birthday on Friday, is delighted. “I am extremely happy and motivated to start the road season. I am truly grateful for this wonderful opportunity. As a first-year promise, I am aware of the great challenge that the transition entails, but I am determined to demonstrate my talent. In recent years I have already gained experience in several multi-day UCI races, climbing races and fair races.”

The 20-year-old Bentveld is also very happy with this opportunity. “After a very successful cross season, I hope to take my performance to an even higher level with this step. I am very grateful for the trust that Jürgen and Patrick have in me. In my youth I did drive on the road, but in recent years that has been less the case. The focus was mainly on cyclo-cross. I hope that I can improve through this road program, but at the same time I am also curious about what I can achieve on the road.”
