A segment of the Club’s supporters is grumbling about the price of package holidays for Fiorentina. They think that 700 euros for a package trip without overnight stays is a lot. Club Brugge itself is surprised: “1,500 of the 1,700 available tickets are sold at the purchase price.”

In the run-up to the historic trip to Florence, some Club fans do not agree with the distribution key for the 1,700 available tickets for Fiorentina-Club next Thursday. They are bothered by the fact that the commercial partner of Blue-Black, SIMA Tours, charges 725 euros for a package trip that does not include hotel stays. Flights in particular are expensive; charter planes have become a lot more expensive in recent years.

The package of 725 euros includes two flights, transfers from Pisa airport to Florence and a match ticket in the away box. “Due to the high season and the limited supply of hotel rooms in Florence, we are forced to only offer a ‘Flight only 3-day program’,” the travel partner said.

At Club people are surprised about the fuss about the ticket distribution key, which has been the same for years. Normally it is as follows: 65 percent goes to the Supporters Federation, 20 percent to the travel partner and 15 percent is sold by the Club itself. A system that has remained unchanged for several decades – Frank Devos Reizen was Club’s regular travel partner for SIMA Tours. Because of the accessible trip, SIMA Tours only acquired 9 percent of the available tickets this time. If Club travels to, say, Moldova or Iceland, the travel partner is usually allocated a larger percentage. “This actually concerns 9 percent of the total tickets,” Club Brugge said. “1,500 of the 1,700 available tickets will be sold at the purchase price.”

The problem that many fans face, however, is that the capacity of the Stadio Artemio Franchi has been temporarily reduced from 47,000 to 34,000 places. UEFA wants 5% of the capacity to be reserved for the visiting club. Club therefore saw the number of tickets reduced to around 1,700 available tickets. Something that Club Brugge itself of course deeply regrets. Many fans, who did not travel through Europe often or not at all this season, are frustrated in this way. They are at the back of the queue at the Supporters Federation, even though they have already booked flights and overnight stays in or around Florence.

Earlier this season there was a fuss about the ‘high’ ticket prices for the eighth final against Molde. However, those prices were the same as during the group stage. However, Blauw-zwart took the wishes of the supporters into account and used the same prices in Jan Breydel for the quarter-final against PAOK and the semi-final against Fiorentina.
