Triskaidekaphobia is the fear of the number 13. In many cultures the number is seen as an unlucky number. By not having row 13, airlines are trying to take into account the superstitions of their passengers so that no one has to sit in the ‘unlucky row’.
This is the case, for example, with Ryanair, Lufthansa, Air France and Emirates. At TUI, on the other hand, you can end up in the 13th row.
