TVIn the second season of ‘Nonkels’, actor Wim Opbrouck has a larger role as boss Christian of Tuincentrum Van Eeden. His character appears to be based on an existing figure, who is certainly very well known in West Flanders.

While Christian drives around his garden center in a golf cart, he promotes his articles. “Hello dear followers of the internet! Christian Van Eden here,” he starts. A striking resemblance to Wim from Stock-Depot in Zulte. He has also been advertising his business for years through funny videos on his social media.
As one of the makers of ‘Nonkels’, Jelle De Beule certainly drew inspiration from the enthusiastic West Flemish manager. “We usually have a lot of fun and games, as Christaan says. ‘Fun novelties’,” says Wim. He is very proud and has many fans. “People say we put a smile on their faces. We already have more than 100,000 followers.”
