A new episode of True Crime Belgium appears on Wednesday, May 8 on Streamz. It is a special about the so-called Channel murder of Ingrid van Regenmortel by a barely 16-year-old perpetrator. The episode was named True Crime Belgium: Teen Killer and let everyone involved have their say.
True crime has been popular for years and seems to have lost none of its interest. For example, Play Crime recently even started a special extra channel that focuses on the genre. In addition, there is of course also the successful program True Crime Belgium that focuses its spotlight on the most infamous cases in our country. For example, there was recently a special about the terrorist act of Hans Van Themsche. Episodes followed later Love in Despair, In love, conquered, murdered and Pedosexual on the loose?.
Ingrid van Regenmortel
It has been almost exactly twenty years since Ingrid van Regenmortel was murdered. The young mother went for a walk along the Netekanaal in Viersel as usual. When she does not return, her husband calls the police. It wasn’t until the next morning that a sniffer dog found her body. That is clearly hidden, with bare torso.
Initially there are almost no witnesses, but eventually the police find the perpetrator. It turns out to be a barely 16-year-old boy who is considered one of the most dangerous people in Flanders. During the reconstruction, he explains without emotion and very coolly how he killed Ingrid van Regenmortel.
