Lisa Van Rossem (31) was the sister of for a long time, but now she continues to pursue her musical career even without Metejoor. Only her health sometimes falters.

Her debut single Who will be there was heard last summer in Ten to see, but now Lisa Van Rossem is also taking to the stage solo in the rest of Flanders. She does this under her stage name LEEZ and without Joris, better known as Metejoor. “All my life I have been ‘the sister of’. I see that as a compliment,” she says in Dag Allemaal. “That made me the coolest in the class.” A proud sister, but her own career without a brother is now also taking off. The only thing that sometimes holds her back is her own health. Van Rossem has Crohn’s disease and other autoimmune diseases. “I always say that I was put together with discarded second-hand items,” she jokes. “My health will always be a stumbling block.”

Yet Van Rossem – who can also be heard weekly on radio JOE – focuses on the positive. Meditation helps with this. “You can reduce physical disabilities with a strong mindset.” In addition to performing, the singer still works in the transport sector. “I have been doing that with pleasure for seven years, but my bosses know that I will give up the job as soon as I can fully focus on my performances.”
