More than half of Primark’s essential children’s items included in the new lower prices are made from recycled materials or designed to be worn again and again, as part of the established Primark Cares strategy.

Primark had already reduced prices on selected children’s ranges last summer, in the run-up to the Back-to-School shopping season. Primark says it aims to give its customers ‘the peace of mind that they are getting the best value for everything you buy. Knowing that Primark understands how important it is for families to keep their costs low.’

According to Primark, the retailer’s new lower prices apply to ‘essentials’ from the children’s summer wardrobe, such as selected T-shirts and shorts, swimwear, slippers and baseball caps. ‘A simple T-shirt and swimming trunks complete with flip-flops and a baseball cap can now be purchased for €10.50 compared to €14.50 last year. The measure also extends to baby clothes, with a complete outfit consisting of selected T-shirts and shorts now costing just €5.60 compared to €8.00 twelve months ago,” Primark responds. The reduction applies to all European businesses and can also be found via the webshop.

Gavin Daniels, director of Kidswear at Primark, says MarketingTribune: ‘We know summer can be an expensive time for families and as the holidays approach, parents want their money to go further with low prices that don’t compromise on quality. As shoppers start to prepare for summer, we want to do our part by offering new lower prices on many products in our children’s range to support families. Our customers can always rely on us to provide them with great quality at affordable prices, and we are proud to lower our prices even further.”

The majority of the price-reduced collection of ‘essentials’ is made from recycled materials (at least 50% recycled polyester). Meanwhile, select T-shirts, shorts and babywear outfits are still made from a minimum of 50% cotton sourced from Primark’s Sustainable Cotton Program (PSCP), the largest sustainable cotton program of its kind within the fashion industry.
