In Lille, 3 people were found dead in an active drug lab on the busy Poederleese road. A fourth victim has been resuscitated, but it is not clear what condition he or she is now.

Two other victims were taken to hospital, the Antwerp public prosecutor’s office said.

Sources close to the investigation suspect that it concerns highly toxic fumes released during the production of the drugs.

This morning, the police in the Turnhout region received an emergency call about the building on Poederleeseweg in Lille. “The police arrived on the scene and found an active drug lab there. The 3 fatalities were also found there,” says Kato Belmans of the Antwerp public prosecutor’s office.

Nothing is yet known about the identities of the victims. The building where the dead were found had been vacant for several months.

Police and emergency services have arrived en masse and the NICC (the National Institute for Criminalistics and Criminology) is also conducting an investigation on site. That’s normal when it comes to a drug lab. (pol/procuratorate) Photo drug report archive. More later.
