Union SG does take into account a departure of Felice Mazzu. In order not to be faced with a fait accompli, they are already considering their options. The club is therefore thinking of Sven Vandenbroeck, trainer of Moroccan FAR Rabat.

Vandenbroeck is an ex-player of KV Mechelen, among others, where he played 106 matches between 1996 and 2000. He then moved to the Netherlands where he played for Roda for five seasons. De Graafschap, Akratitos, Lierse and Visé are also among his former clubs. In 2011, he became an assistant at KV Mechelen, after which he started working for Niki Volos in the Greek league.

He has been active in Africa since 2016. First as an assistant with Cameroon, then as head coach with Zambia. He also trained Moroccan Simba FC and is now doing well at FAR Rabat. He was also in the picture at KV Mechelen to succeed Wouter Vrancken, but it is possible that a Belgian adventure will follow.

Felice Mazzu is in the interest of Anderlecht. Those negotiations are not easy at the moment, but Union does take into account that he is still leaving. They are not too happy about that, because the coach had first indicated that he intended to stay. So maybe something is already broken. At Anderlecht he is the first choice to succeed Kompany. The more results-oriented football could be one of the big factors in choosing him.
