While the sporting successes suddenly follow each other at a rapid pace, Club Brugge also appears to be busy preparing for next season. There is even a second summer addition in the pipeline.

Blauw-Zwart previously announced the arrival of Ardon Jashari, who was taken over from FC Luzern for six million. According to several media, Club is now about to put a similar sum on the table for Zaid Romero.

Replacement for Sylla

Although the deal has not yet been fully completed, it seems only a matter of time before the 24-year-old Argentinian makes his move in Jan Breydel. Dévy Rigaux and his team had been looking for a left-footed central defender for some time.

Since the departure of Abakar Sylla last summer, that profile has been missing from the selection, a void that Romero will soon have to fill. In recent months, Brandon Mechele has served as a left-wing pawn in the heart of the defense.

Boyata offside

He was first accompanied by Jorne Spileers for a long time, but lately Joel Ordonez has been given preference more often. The general expectation is that they will have to compete with the new signing next season.

This means that there is no longer a place for Dedryck Boyata in Westkapelle, where he could never justify his high salary. He is also not allowed to appear under Nicky Hayen, who even chose Éder Balanta in Greece without Mechele.

Work for Rigaux

A year before his contract expires, Club will undoubtedly do everything it can to permanently remove Boyata from the accounts. Although it will probably not be easy this time to find a solution for the 33-year-old high earner.
