Former US President Donald Trump has been fined $9,000 (8,400 euros) for violating the gag order in the criminal case surrounding the bribery of a porn star with campaign money, The New York Times reports.

According to the court, Trump violated the gag order several times by publishing various messages on social media. According to CNN, Trump must remove seven messages from his social medium Truth Social and two messages from his campaign website today.

If Trump were to violate the gag order in the future, the former president risks a prison sentence, judge Juan Merchan warns.
