Ryanair CEO Michael O’Leary is never shy about making a controversial statement – even now. In an interview he said that he would be happy to deport migrants to Rwanda, for the right price.
While the world is experiencing crisis after crisis, Ryanair CEO Michael O’Leary mainly sees opportunities. In an interview he said that he would like to “deport” migrants to Rwanda. The ruling came after the British Parliament approved a bill on Wednesday to send migrants without the right of residence to Rwanda. “If we have any spare aircraft in the winter schedule and the government is looking for additional deportation flights, we would be happy to provide a quote,” O’Leary said.
The British plans are very controversial. The United Nations has warned that airlines carrying out the deportation could be complicit in violating international law. O’Leary responded to that statement with a shrug.
The Ryanair CEO has previously been in the news with controversial statements about obesity and climate change, among other things.
