At the age of 25, Tadej Pogacar already has an impressive track record. He dominates almost every race he starts, but what does the peloton think about that?

In 2024, Tadej Pogacar will have ten racing days under his belt, with seven victories already. The Strade Bianche, four stages and the final classification in the Tour of Catalonia and Liège-Bastogne-Liège. It is mind-blowing.

At the age of 25, the Slovenian has also won the Tour twice, the Tour of Flanders, the Tour of Lombardy three times, eleven stages in the Tour, Paris-Nice, Tirreno-Adriatico and three stages in the Vuelta. A total of 70 victories.

Pogacar still popular in the peloton

But his performance does not cause envy in the peloton. “Of course you cannot always be sympathetic to everyone, but he is certainly not unsympathetic. You can still argue with him,” says Quinten Hermans at False Plat.

“He is not like: I am Pogacar and I will arrange everything,” says Hermans. “You can put your shoulder to him. Without endangering him, but you shouldn’t do that with anyone.”

“He has a chat with everyone. He is also someone who likes to race and really has fun on the bike. A bit like Mathieu van der Poel. Guys who have turned their hobby into their profession.”
