A man was seriously injured in a stabbing in Antwerp North on Saturday evening. The local police confirmed this. The man was found with stab wounds in the Lange Scholiersstraat, but what exactly happened is still being investigated.
The facts took place around 7 p.m. Police are on scene investigating and have established a perimeter. The forensic laboratory also comes by for trace research.
“A man was found with stab wounds in Lange Scholiersstraat. There is currently no information about the circumstances. The medical services are taking care of the seriously injured victim,” said the Antwerp police.
“He was in mortal danger, but that has now passed,” confirms Wouter Bruyns, spokesperson for the Antwerp police. The police start the investigation on the spot. There is a perimeter and given the nature of the facts, the judicial lab will also be on site for trace evidence. “We have no information to share about the perpetrator. The police are tracking him/her down,” Bruyns said.
