Club Brugge and Racing Genk are the two teams in form in the Champions’ Play-offs. Who else presents themselves as a title candidate?
Club Brugge and Racing Genk both already took 10 out of 12 in the play-offs, they only lost points against Cercle Brugge. Now the two in-form teams face each other for a first match this week.
The form at Club is excellent. They reached the semi-finals of the Conference League and won against Union last Sunday. If it wins against Genk and Anderlecht loses against Cercle, Club will be the new leader.
Nicky Hayen is still missing Simon Mignolet, Casper Nielsen and Andreas Skov Olsen. Hugo Vetlesen is suspended after his red card against Union, but Raphael Onyedika has served his matchday suspension.
Three goals or more in Club-Genk?
At Racing Genk, captain Bryan Heynen is out for the rest of the season, Kayembe is serving his second matchday suspension after the salon draw against Westerlo. El Khannouss has been suspended for Sunday’s match with a yellow card.
In the regular competition it remained 1-1 in Jan Breydel at the end of September, Club won 0-3 in Genk. The confrontation between Club and Genk always results in goals. Three or more goals have been scored in seventeen of the last twenty matches.
