More and more players have broken through at Club Brugge in recent years. In the past that was not easy. One of the former youth products of Blauw-Zwart announced his retirement as a professional footballer at the age of 27.

Seys retires from professional football

Dylan Seys is calling it quits, he announced this via Instagram. “I don’t know how to start, but after 23 years & 11 years of professional football, I have decided to stop professional football. Since my serious knee injury (torn cruciate ligaments) and after 2 operations, I have suffered from other injuries and a knee that doesn’t feel 100%. For me, this decision is one of the hardest and toughest I’ve ever had to make, but I don’t feel like my old self and then this decision feels the best,” he stated.

“I have been able to experience very wonderful moments in my career and I will always cherish them, but sometimes you have to make choices in life. I would like to thank all the people I have worked with! Thank you to all the clubs for the opportunities and the great time! Some are better than others, but all in all, time for something new in life and I am entering the future with a good feeling,” says the current Bocholt player.

Nice resume

In recent years, Seys played for Club Brugge, Hapoel Acre, FC Twente, RKC Waalwijk, Mouscron, Excelsior Rotterdam, Helmond Sport, AE Kifisias and Bocholt VV. He is 27 years old.
