Support Ghana celebrated its 15th anniversary with Ghana Cafe XL and buffet in Sint-Pieters-Kapelle

This year, the Ghana Café took place in the multi-purpose banquet hall in Sint-Pieters-Kapelle on Saturday, May 4. On October 6, 2023, it was 15 years ago that Luc Somers and Lode Vanholder decided to structurally support the Kpando region in Ghana after a sports internship in Ghana. In the meantime, support has already been provided to ten local partner schools in Kpando and around 200 local young people have also been helped with study grants and microcredits. A guesthouse, restaurant and travel agency were also started. Support Ghana also supervises internship students from various colleges in Flanders.” In Kpando itself we rent various locations for the care of students and volunteers and we also have various programs around homework guidance, tutoring, health screenings, wound care, well-being and sports and sustainability. A project to support forty teenage mothers was also recently started and in 2024 additional funds will be collected for a water project and a training center for the local prison,” said Luc Somers.

After the performance by Luc Somers in the multi-purpose banquet hall in Sint-Pieters-Kapelle with a look back on 15 years of Support Ghana and with a discussion with Muhammed Ibrahim, director of Emo Foundation NGO, it was time for the Ghana Bar followed by the Ghana Buffet . So we sat down for a delicious Ghanaian buffet provided by Priscilla from Sali’Food from Lennik.
