KORTRIJK – A West Flemish couple, who run a B&B in the south of France, can count on great recognition from the professional tourist corner. For the third year in a row, Trip Advisor awarded an award to their holiday accommodation La Mouline.

Eleven years ago, Luc and Tine De Wart decided to move from the wonderful Oostduinkerke to the deep French south, to start a B&B there. The B&B is located in Belvèze (an unsightly village) and is located at the crossroads of three departments (Dordogne, Gers and Lot-et-Garonne) and – needless to say – in a wonderfully beautiful region. The couple ran a banking and insurance office for many years, but wanted something different. New entrepreneurship, so to speak.

Luc is an engineer with a master’s degree in finance. The French dream became a leap in the dark, but today the light shines brightly over the nine-hectare domain of La Mouline. When searching for the ideal location, it was love at first sight. Trip Advisor ranks the ‘West Flemish B&B’ under the category Travelers Choice Best of the Best. It seems that there is no need for much comment anymore.

Pure West Flemish entrepreneurship

Luc and Tine say that they can give every holidaymaker what he or she desires: both the tranquility-seeking traveler and the more active visitors will find something to their liking. Culinary friends can also enjoy the rich gastronomy there. Luc appears to have a lot of skills behind the stove, according to the comments on the La Mouline website.

When it comes to entrepreneurship, the couple uses the well-known West Flemish recipes for success: doing what we promise, small scale that guarantees quality and service with a capital ‘S’ according to the principle that nothing is too much for us.
