The new Antwerp musical house Iscariot is presenting a performance based on the life of Ann Christy. It is remarkable that her son Benjamin is participating for the first time in a production about his famous mother.

Kobe Van Herwegen wrote the musical, about and with the songs of Ann Christy, based on conversations with friends and colleagues of the late singer. Her last performance with Mike Verdrengh, her perseverance despite her illness and her unconditional love for her son: it is all discussed.

“She sang in that program I live for you, the title of our performance. We see her in the dressing room, where she is confronted with her past. But she also has to make choices: what values ​​does she want to pass on to her son? What if, as a mother, you know that you will never see your child grow up,” Kobe Van Herwegen explains the story of the musical. I live for you premieres on September 22, 2025, Ann’s birthday.

First there is the new Flemish creation Babes, with Maike Boerdam, Daisy Thys and Bieke Ilegems. This musical tells the story of a girl group from the eighties that tries to make a comeback. Babes, which will be shown in the Antwerp Fakkeltheater, will immediately be the debut of production house Iscariot, a name that was not chosen by chance. It is the successor to Judas, which made a name for itself with high-quality Flemish creations until its discontinuation last year.
