British King Charles (75) will resume his public duties next week, Buckingham Palace announced on Friday. After his cancer diagnosis, the king paused his public work, but he remained active within the palace walls.

The first working visit will not exactly surprise you. Next Tuesday, Charles will visit a care center where cancer patients are treated. Together with Queen Camilla he will meet medical specialists and patients.

The visit will be the first in a series of public visits in the coming weeks, the palace said, although it is emphasized that the king is still undergoing treatment and is therefore not yet a full return. The king and queen will receive the Japanese emperor and empress for a state visit at the end of June, the first in Japan since 1998.

In the statement, Buckingham Palace also said that in the run-up to Charles’ one-year reign, the king and queen are “deeply grateful” for the kindness and good wishes they have received “during the joys and challenges” of the past year from all over the world. world have received.

In February, the Palace announced that Charles had been diagnosed with cancer, without specifying which one. The condition was discovered during tests after prostate surgery.

The British royal family is not spared medically. A month ago it was announced that Princess Catherine, wife of Crown Prince William, also has cancer. She was forced to release a video message after weeks of speculation, fueled by a photoshopped family photo. She also stopped her public duties for the time being.
