Liverpool reaches verbal agreement with Feyenoord for coach Arne Slot

Arne Slot (45) has his dream transfer as a trainer. After three seasons in which he became champion and won the cup with Feyenoord, the Dutch coach is leaving the Rotterdam Kuip through the front door to succeed Jürgen Klopp at Liverpool in the short term.

At the same time, Feyenoord has won its main prize. The Rotterdammers have played a tough game with Liverpool’s leadership and have refused to let Slot leave for nine million euros. Feyenoord will receive millions more, but does not communicate at this stage what the amount will ultimately amount to.

This has everything to do with the fact that both parties still have to work out the details of the transfer from Slot to Anfield. Only a verbal agreement has been reached on the rough terms. Because numerous extras are being added to the deal, it will take some time before signatures are on paper.

But it is certain that it will be an absolute record amount paid for a Dutch trainer. Depending on the outcome of numerous matters in the remainder of the discussions with Liverpool, Feyenoord will earn between 13.5 and 15 million euros.
