The season of The Voice of Flanders is done. After a blood-curdling final, it was ultimately Christophe from team Laura who took home the main prize. He competed against three other candidates in the final: Lucas from team Laura, Laurens from team Mathieu and Kobe from team Koen. Christophe succeeds Louise as winner and takes home no less than 25,000 euros.

We finally know who can succeed Louise as The Voice of Flanders; it became Christophe. They started the final with four: Lucas and Christophe from team Laura, Kobe from team Koen and Laurens from team Mathieu. Each candidate was allowed to sing two songs one last time. Lucas performed ‘High’ by Stephen Sanchez and ‘Careless Whisper’ by George Michael. Christophe chose ‘Sound of Silence’ by Disturbed and ‘Beautiful Thing’ by Benson Boone. Laurens went for ‘Dancing On The Ceiling’ by Lionel Richie and ‘All Along the Watchtower’ by Bob Dylan. Kobe then ventured to ‘Don’t Pass Me Be’ by Sean Costello and ‘Devil’ by Shinedown.

A first round of voting brought bad news for candidates Laurens and Lucas. They had to leave the final early. Kobe and Christophe had to prove themselves one last time afterwards. Christophe did that with ‘I Don’t Want to Be’ by Gavin DeGraw. Kobe then started working again on Aerosmith’s ‘Cryin’.

In the end it was Christophe who took home the victory. Immediately good news for his coach Laura. This is the first time that one of her candidates wins the singing competition. Christophe himself was already excited for a while after his victory. “I still don’t understand it,” he said.
