Emma Stone is missing her real name

Throughout her career, Emma Stone has gone by several names: Bella, Mia, Cruella, Abigail, you name it. However, you prefer to simply call the American Oscar winner by her first name ‘Emily’. In an interview with entertainment magazine The Hollywood Reporter does the Poor thingsstar opens up about her identity crisis. “My real name was already used by another actress,” she explains. In accordance with the rules of the American actors’ guild SAG-AFTRA, Stone had to choose a different stage name. In the meantime, she is certainly tired of it, and admittedly, ‘Emma’ is not very original either. “I can not cope with it anymore. Just call me Emily,” she finished fervently. What’s in a name? A lot, as it turns out.

Ellen DeGeneres looks back on fame

Two years after her talk show disappeared from TV, Ellen DeGeneres is back on stage. “Oh yeah, I got kicked out of show business,” the former presenter joked during the first night of her new comedy performance. Not everything was laughing, screaming and roaring: the TV personality spoke openly about the unglamorous end of The Ellen DeGeneres Show. Due to reports of a toxic work environment, DeGeneres decided to end the program in 2021 after 19 seasons. The talk show host was also accused of diva behavior. “The fuss has definitely had an impact on my ego and self-esteem,” she shared with her audience. But on the other hand: it also makes for good stand-up material.

Emily Blunt thinks algorithms are incompetent

Algorithms that make decisions: for some it is progress, for others it is a threat. In an interview with Vanity Fair Emily Blunt clearly places herself in the latter camp. “Algorithms, I hate that damn word! How can you associate that with art and content?” the British film star wondered out loud. According to the Oppenheimer-actress, technology is not yet able to accurately predict which projects will be successful. “I was in a three-hour film about a physicist, which had a very big impact. The algorithms probably wouldn’t have understood that,” Blunt argued. To be honest, we didn’t expect that only a pink doll and an Italian plumber would do better in the cinema last year.
