Everyone wants to experience history. Club Brugge fans rush for the historic return match against Fiorentina in the Conference League. The ‘sold out’ sign was quickly brought up, so supporters are desperately looking for alternatives. Exorbitant prices are charged on the black market.

Facebook groups about Club Brugge are all popping up with the same question: “Does anyone have a ticket left for the match against Fiorentina?”

Due to the historical nature of the European semi-final, everyone would prefer to experience the match in Jan Breydel. Of course, the match was immediately sold out.

There are still many optimists who hope to get a ticket via the well-known TicketSwap platform. No fewer than 730 interested parties indicated that they were looking for an admission ticket. On the other hand, so far only one person has actually sold a ticket (at the correct price).

Through other (less regulated) avenues, others try to earn some extra money by reselling the coveted tickets.

On 2dehands.be – the largest classifieds site in Belgium – in addition to many requests for tickets, there are also people who actually offer their copies for sale.

But at exorbitant prices.

The (provisional) highest bid for one ticket is currently 130 euros, for two tickets someone is willing to pay 320 euros.

That is a multiple of the price for which Blauw-zwart sold the entrance tickets. These varied between 27 and 38 euros for Club ID holders and from 32 to 44 euros in free sales.

Resale of tickets in Belgium at exorbitant prices has been prohibited by law since 2013. Only occasional trading without profit is allowed. 2ehands.be reported in the past that fines could amount to 60,000 euros. The platform works together with the Government Economy Department to combat illegal ticket sales.
