A few days earlier, on May 2, a birthday post was posted on the palace’s Instagram account: one on the occasion of the ninth birthday of Princess Charlotte, the daughter of Prince William and Princess Kate. “We wish Princess Charlotte a very happy birthday,” it read.
Fast forward to May 6, Archie’s birthday, and suddenly there is a deafening silence on the British royals’ social media account. Archie now lives with his mother and father in the United States. Harry and Meghan themselves decided to leave the working royal family, and have since lashed out at the monarchy more than once. The last straw was probably that Prince Harry has been referring to his home country as ‘the US’ on official papers for several months now, instead of the United Kingdom.
Now that Harry is clearly distancing himself more and more from his family, the royal family is also distancing himself from him. That is why little Archie was not allowed to receive official birthday wishes from the palace. It is not known whether King Charles – the grandfather of Archie and his sister, Lillibet – contacted the little prince privately.
