The accident happened on the A9, near Leipzig.

Anyone traveling with a Flixbus must register in advance so that the company knows how many passengers are on board and who they are. But as rescuers on Wednesday were making lists of who was and was not injured and who the fatalities were, they made a strange discovery. Of the 55 names on the list provided to them by the bus company, only 52 were identified. In addition to the 4 fatalities, there are 6 seriously injured people, one of whom is in a very critical condition in hospital. There were also 29 minor injuries and 13 travelers escaped unscathed.

This means that nothing is known about three passengers. As soon as the bus was towed and it turned out that they were not under the bus as first feared, a major search was immediately launched for those missing passengers. The search included the use of sniffer dogs, a drone and a helicopter with a thermal camera in the wooded area around the highway. But without result. Meanwhile, police have also launched an appeal for passengers who may not have been injured and left on their own. They are asked to report to the police so that the mystery can be solved. But for now without results.

There is a chance that the three missing people simply did not leave Berlin. But the drivers should have known that. And that is not the case, as their statements show. Another possibility is that they received a lift from a passer-by immediately after the accident. But the police would also like to know that. Until then, the mystery of the three missing passengers remains.
