Registrations | Who are the biggest gainers in the first quarter?

--

The new passenger car market ended the first quarter of the 2024 financial year with a 2.8% increase in registrations. With 135,140 registrations, or 3,656 more than in the first quarter of 2023, the new passenger car market recorded its best first quarter since 2020 and the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Largely influenced by the lower number of working days in March 2024, and therefore put into perspective, the monthly results show a contraction of -13.5% compared to March 2023.

Who is number 1?

You would hardly say it was possible, but BMW, the most popular brand on our roads for several years, recorded an increase of about 8% in the first quarter. They are followed by Volkswagen, Audi, Mercedes and Volvo. Audi and Volvo in particular recorded good figures with +26% and +38% respectively in the first three months of the year. However, the biggest gainer in the top 10 remains Tesla, which is more than 60% in the green.
