Cloud giant Amazon is expanding its capabilities and will pump nearly $150 billion into expanding and adding data centers over the next fifteen years.

Amazon.com Inc. is planning to spend nearly $150 billion on data centers over the next fifteen years, Bloomberg reports. Earlier this week, the company announced that it is investing four billion dollars in Anthropic, the AI startup that is increasingly making its mark in the AI world. With this major wave of spending, the cloud giant seems to be arming itself against the expected rising demand for AI applications and other digital services.

Expand capabilities

Bloomberg found by one count that Amazon has committed to spending $148 billion over the past two years to build and operate data centers around the world. With this, the company is focusing on expanding current server farm hubs in Virgina and Oregon, and new territories including Mississippi, Saudi Arabia and Malaysia.
