RKC Waalwijk defeated the visiting FC Utrecht again on Sunday afternoon. The home club lost a lead twice and, to the horror of coach Henk Fraser, that was not exactly the first time this season: 2-2.

RKC could have used the points well in its attempts not to finish in the last three of the Eredivisie. Before the meeting in Waalwijk, FC Utrecht had a secret hope of displacing Ajax from fifth place. At the end of the day, that would mean participation in the second qualifying round of the Europa League. Yet it was rarely exciting in the Mandemakers Stadium.

David Min played an important role at RKC. The striker opened the scoring in the 26th minute and offered substitute Richonell Margaret the opportunity to help the home team regain the lead after more than an hour. Before that, Can Bozodogan had registered the 1-1.

Once again RKC failed to score all three points. It was Sam Lammers who threw a spanner in the works. With his seventh goal in a row for FC Utrecht, the Tilburg native set the final score at 2-2. The ex-PSV player almost made RKC’s misery even worse, but his goal in the 90th minute was disallowed. Min was also close to scoring. However, it remained at 2-2, so no one was actually satisfied. The home crowd greeted the draw with a flute concert.
