ECO3 has launched Eclipse Pro, a new process-free offset plate for sheet-fed printers. According to the manufacturer, the new plate technology offers improved image contrast and excellent scratch resistance and will be presented at Drupa.

Eclipse Pro promises to produce consistent, high-quality printing over a wider range of printing conditions. The new process-free plate enables fast press starts and restarts with only minimal paper waste in a wide range of scenarios.

Flexibility

Crucially, Eclipse Pro does not require major changes to the existing setup; it can be easily integrated into the workflow to replace a conventional plate, making it a very convenient choice for many commercial printers. The offset plate can be used with both conventional and H-UV/LED-UV inks, which provides more flexibility in printing companies.

Image contrast

“The new process-free plate provides excellent and stable image contrast for extended periods of time, even longer than 24 hours, when exposed to office light, thanks to ECO3’s unique and irreversible color formation mechanism,” the company notes. The high contrast also helps operators mount plates correctly on the press, avoiding costly mistakes.

Scratch resistant

An important factor of ease of use for printers is the excellent scratch resistance of the plate. With a very robust surface, the plate is better protected during the journey from box to CtP loader and to the press. “This makes handling easy and ensures high print quality every time. Printers will experience less costly downtime and plate remakes due to fine scratches that are usually only detected when the press is running. The result is higher productivity, better quality and less waste “, said ECO3.
