Multiple shoplifting incidents at Colruyt in Leuven, four suspects summoned by the public prosecutor’s office

The public prosecutor’s office has summoned four suspects of various shoplifting incidents in the Colruyt supermarket. Three of them worked together, they tried the day before yesterday around 6:15 p.m. to fill their backpack with 18 bottles of whiskey worth 480 euros. The thieves only paid for a can of Coca-Cola, but were caught by a security guard. The police arrested the three suspects and determined that one of them had 3 Ecstasy pills in his pocket. Another was under the influence of cocaine. The suspects must answer for the theft in mid-May, two of them were also summoned for violations of the drug law.

The other suspect is a 39-year-old man. He tried to steal tobacco and liquor from the same supermarket twice within 24 hours. He was also caught twice. The first time he was taken to the police station, where he was invited for an interrogation. The second time he was arrested. The man himself admitted the facts. He must also appear before the criminal court in Leuven in mid-May for the two shoplifting incidents and his illegal stay in our country.
