American streamer Tyler “Ninja” Blevins has a form of skin cancer. He reported this himself via X, the former Twitter. The cancer was discovered after a visit to the dermatologist, where he had a mole removed “just to be sure”.

Ninja, whose real name is Tyler Blevins, has been streaming since the early years of the streaming platform Twitch. In 2017, his popularity skyrocketed thanks to his Fortnite streams, a free online computer game. He is almost the most famous streamer on Twitch and therefore even ended up in the American version of The Masked Singer. He has more than 19 million followers on Twitch, making him the most popular streamer on the platform.

The 32-year-old streamer recently went to the dermatologist for an annual check-up. “There was a mole on the bottom of my foot, which they wanted to remove just to be safe,” Ninja wrote on X. “It turned out to be a melanoma.”

Shortly afterwards, another dark spot appeared near the melanoma. “Today they took a biopsy and removed a larger area around the melanoma in the hope that everything is gone,” he writes.

The streamer emphasizes that he is hopeful and grateful that they discovered the melanoma at an early stage. Early recognition and diagnosis is crucial for optimal treatment. That is why Ninja also makes a warm appeal: “Let my situation serve as a reminder to have your skin checked annually.” (FDB)
