A match between Lommel SK and KMSK Deinze was scheduled for Sunday afternoon. The diptych between these teams will decide who will face the runner-up from the Relegation Play-offs.

On a sunny Sunday, Deinze went to Limburg to compete against Lommel SK. In the previous round, Lommel won after two games against Zulte-Waregem while Deinze defeated Patro.

It doesn’t take long to wait for the first chance of the match. After eight minutes, Van Landschoot was able to come face to face with De Busser after a nice long ball. The latter was able to make a great save and convert the ball into a corner kick.

In the eighteenth minute it was Deinze again with a great chance. Mertens again found De Busser in his search for the 0-1. Big chances were not forthcoming afterwards and so there was a score on the board at half-time.

In the second half, Lommel takes the lead through Vansca, who taps in Aguilar’s ball at the far post. After the 1-0, Deinze went looking for the equalizer without any great opportunities.

The first big chance for Deinze after 76 minutes was immediately scored. Substitute Sven Braken is able to neatly turn in De Schryver’s cross at the first post. With that goal the match ended in a 1-1 draw.

After the match, both Lommel and Deinze seem to have added value for the Belgian first division. Lommel has some good players on the field and a great man in goal. Deinze should also not be inferior in 1A. On May 12, both teams will look each other in the eye again.
