Tour of Türkiye

10:30 Izmir – 13:26 Izmir

Tobias Lund Andresen has been crowned the undisputed sprint king in the Tour of Turkey. The young Dane from DSM-Firmenich was by far the fastest in the bunch sprint in Izmir, his leader Fabio Jakobsen was again not involved. Timothy Dupont sprinted to second place.

From lead-out to leader? Tobias Lund Andresen is well on his way to turning the tables at DSM-Firmenich. The Dane had traveled to Turkey as a pilot for Fabio Jakobsen, but has proven to be the better of the Dutchman time and time again.

After Andresen had already won on Wednesday and Thursday, his team wanted to play Jakobsen again on Saturday. But for the leader it turned out to be a disappointment once again.

In the streets of Izmir, Jakobsen lost the wheel of Andresen, who authoritatively sprinted to a third victory. Our compatriot Timothy Dupont came second, Jakobsen only sixth. The latter could not hide his disappointment afterwards.

Andresen, who quickly consoled Jakobsen with a pat on the back, was very happy. The 21-year-old Danish talent had not yet won a professional race until this week. Meanwhile, his counter is already at three.

Tomorrow the Tour of Turkey ends with a short stage in Istanbul. The last kilometer is treacherous, with a gradient of about 6 percent. The Dutchman Frank van den Broek defends his leader’s jersey.
