Sony has removed Helldivers 2 from Steam in over a hundred countries. In these countries it is not possible to officially create a PSN account, which will soon be mandatory for the game. Steam, meanwhile, would have made refunding Helldivers 2 easier.
The country list on SteamDB shows that these are mainly African, Latin American and Eastern European countries. It is not clear whether Steam has actually changed its refund policy for Helldivers 2. The company has not yet communicated about this.
Sony Interactive Entertainment released the news at the beginning of May that PC gamers of Helldivers 2 will have to link their Steam account to a PlayStation Network account. This measure will become mandatory and will come into effect on May 6. By June 4, all Helldivers 2 PC gamers must have their accounts linked to continue playing that way. Through this measure, Sony says it wants to better protect gamers against the misconduct of certain players.
