Ghent player Paul Nardi can call himself a goalkeeper again. 5 months after his terrible leg injury in the Conference League, the 29-year-old Frenchman was back between the posts for the first time. With Jong Gent he defeated the OHL promises 3-0.
The match in the 1st National was Paul Nardi’s first match after his nasty injury at the end of November.
In the Conference League, the Ghent goalkeeper then suffered a terrible ankle and leg injury against Zorja Luhansk.
The plowmakers who saw it all happen were devastated. The fact that Ghent had assured itself of a European wintering was completely in the shadows.
Nardi was operated on within 24 hours, started recuperating at home 6 days later and today kicked off for the first time with the Ghent B team.
Jong Gent is now in shared 6th place. The OHL promises are dangling at the back in 16th place. But they do not have to fear relegation, because Sint-Eloois-Winkel is quitting (so there is no failure in the 1st National).
Lokeren-Temse and La Louvière have already secured a spot in the Challenger Pro League.
