KAA Gent announced on Thursday morning that Julien De Sart has extended his contract for two seasons. ‘KAA Gent is happy and proud to announce the contract extension of midfielder Julien De Sart (29). Julien still had an agreement in Ghent until 2026, but has now extended it for two additional seasons until 2028,” the club’s website said.
The midfielder also responded to the great news himself. “After three years in Ghent, I am proud and happy to be able to extend my adventure here. It feels good to be part of the Buffalo family in the coming years.”
“I have full confidence in the club’s vision for the future and am convinced that we will achieve great things together,” De Sart continues.
He has already played 138 games for the Buffaloes. He was able to score 16 times and provide 6 assists. Since the beginning of February he has also been wearing the captain’s armband at Ghent.
Owner Sam Baro is also happy with the news. “Julien is a key figure at KAA Gent. An absolute top player, both football-wise and in the dressing room. He is a leader and an example of maturity. It was therefore obvious to us that he is one of the pawns around whom we want to further build our team.”
