Brian Riemer is leading the Champions’ Play-offs with RSC Anderlecht. Four more games and we know who the new national champion is.

Brian Riemer became coach of RSC Anderlecht last year. This season he guided the club to the leading position, something that perhaps no one expected from the Purple & White.

Het Laatste Nieuws asked Anderlecht’s coach how he would consider the play-offs a success. “If we rewind to July last year and you would have asked me that question… Then a place in the top six would have been a great step forward, especially if you know where we come from,” he said.

But in the meantime the situation has changed considerably. For a long time, RSC Anderlecht appeared to be the only team that could still threaten Union SG to some extent, but things turned out completely differently.

From being a threat, it is suddenly in the running to take the title, although for the time being it also has to tolerate Club Brugge with the same number of points. Blauwzwart also made a strong catch-up race during the play-offs.

However, Brian Riemer now calls a cat a cat given the rankings. “The fact that we are now in this position is amazing. But now we aim for the highest possible, full glory,” he is very clear.
