Bayern Munich is looking for a coach for next season. It probably won’t be old acquaintance Xabi Alonso. Honorary chairman Uli Hoeness all but rules out the arrival of the Spaniard.
Xabi Alonso is doing an excellent job as coach of Bayer Leverkusen. After 26 matchdays in the Bundesliga, the team leads with a bonus of 10 points over first pursuer Bayern Munich.
In the past, Bayern has several times poached a top trainer from a competitor. Will it now also bring former player Alonso back to Munich?
“This year that will be very difficult, if not probably impossible,” honorary chairman Uli Hoeness responds to the Bavarian channel BR.
“I personally – and all of us – rate him extremely highly,” the Bayern man continues, “but I can imagine that he wants to continue his work in Leverkusen. After two or three years of success, it would probably have been easier for us .”

Thomas Tuchel is currently drawing up the squad and tactical plan at Bayern Munich. At the end of the season both parties part ways.
