On Saturday evening, Anderlecht and Antwerp will face each other in the Champions’ Play-offs at Lotto Park. The Purple & White will have to quickly switch to ‘Pro League mode’ after the international break.

During the preparation for the play-offs, something stood out in Antwerp. Coach Mark van Bommel could count on an almost complete core to work hard during these two weeks.

Among the usual starters, only Zeno Van Den Bosch and Alhassan Yusuf had international commitments.

For the rest, the strong holders have been able to prepare for the play-offs. Antwerp is currently 3rd in the Champions’ Play-offs with 26 points and will certainly fight for a European ticket.

At Anderlecht the situation looked completely different. Brian Riemer’s starting team has spent the international break all over Europe.

Kasper Schmeichel, Thomas Delaney, Kasper Dolberg, Anders Dreyer (Denmark). Zeno Debast, Jan Vertonghen (Red Devils). Ludwig Augustinsson (Sweden), Killian Sardella and Mario Stroeykens (Belgium U21).

Will this all work in Antwerp’s favor on Saturday? Or are they extra sharp at Anderlecht after the international break?
