After three and a half years, Colin Coosemans was finally allowed to be behind the bar again in 1A. “Very nice,” said the goalkeeper in front of the VTM Nieuws camera. “Certainly at home and with a win. I don’t really know what was going on with Schmeichel. I saw that he was suffering, but I don’t know exactly what. During the break I started warming up. I didn’t have much work, but that’s not necessary. If we win every week without the goalkeeper having work, that’s fine.”

Coosemans showed himself to be a little more emotional with the rights holder immediately after the match. “I expected to have a little more nerves, but it was much less than expected. It has been a long time since I was allowed to play goalkeeper again and it is my first time for Anderlecht (for which it has been released since the summer of 2021, ed.), Super beautiful. I had already imagined several times what it would be like to finally make my debut. That created some nice emotions and I think they will be released now. There were sometimes difficult moments, but we are now a bit later and it is nice to finally make my debut.”

After the match, Colin Coosemans addressed his team in the locker room. In the images, which Anderlecht shared via X, the goalkeeper gave an emotional speech. Afterwards, the players came to give him a hug one by one.
